Pearland Police Apprehend Bank Robbery Suspect Within Seven Minutes

A rapid and coordinated response by the Pearland Police Department led to the arrest of a bank robbery suspect, Lamont Taylor, 59, within seven minutes of the crime occurring on Thursday, June 5, 2025.

At approximately 12:21 p.m., officers were dispatched to a robbery in progress at the Navy Federal Credit Union, located at 11011 Shadow Creek Parkway. An employee reported that a male suspect had passed a note demanding money and fled the scene with a significant amount of cash in a recognizable vehicle.

Members of the Pearland Police Department’s Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) and patrol officers immediately saturated the area in search of the suspect vehicle. A CRU officer quickly located the vehicle nearby, and a high-risk traffic stop was conducted. Lamont Taylor, born November 21, 1965, was found inside the vehicle and taken into custody without incident.

Taylor has been charged with Robbery.

The Pearland Police Department highlighted the exceptional collaboration between its Dispatch, Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Division (CID), and Crime Scene Unit (CSU) for the swift and successful apprehension.
