Dirt Bike Rider Killed After Running Red Light, Crashing into Truck in Houston

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 28-year-old man Saturday night, May 31, at approximately 9:40 p.m. in the 1400 block of Gears Road.
The victim has been identified as Rondarias Williams.
According to HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer V. Taylor, Williams was operating a green Kawasaki dirt bike traveling eastbound on Gears Road when he ran a red light and collided with a black Ford F150 that was turning left onto Greens Parkway from the westbound lanes.
Following the initial impact, Williams was ejected from the dirt bike and struck a gray Acura RDX. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics.
The drivers of both the Ford and Acura remained at the scene, cooperated with police, and were found not to be impaired. They were questioned and released.
The investigation is ongoing.
