Man Shot and Killed During Altercation in Channelview, Suspect Identified

On Friday, May 23, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a shooting call at 16042 Avenue C in Channelview. Multiple 911 callers reported that a male had been shot by another male during a verbal altercation.

Deputies arrived along with EMS personnel and attempted to aid the victim. The man, however, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene from at least one gunshot wound.

Homicide detectives arrived at approximately 8:00 p.m. to begin the investigation. Witnesses were interviewed at the scene, and detectives were able to identify the victim. After reviewing witness statements and examining social media activity, investigators identified a possible suspect in the case.

The scene was processed by the Crime Scene Unit, and the victim’s body was transported by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.

Detectives are in the process of locating and notifying the victim’s next of kin and are pursuing murder charges against the identified suspect.
