Suspect Charged with Intoxication Manslaughter in Fatal Bennington Street Crash

Houston police have arrested and charged a suspect in connection with a fatal crash that occurred at 4200 Bennington Street on Saturday, May 17, at approximately 6:50 p.m.
Abdul Jubay Davis, 42, has been charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 262nd State District Court. Davis remains hospitalized.
The identity of the deceased male, 38, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
According to HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant V. Vo and Officer K. Stout, the driver of a gray Ford F150 truck, later identified as Davis, was traveling at a high rate of speed near the address when he ran a red light. The Ford F150 then struck a red Chevrolet Impala. The driver of the Impala subsequently lost control, rolled over, and struck a black Honda Civic.
Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male driver of the Honda deceased at the scene. The male driver of the Impala was transported to an area hospital for his injuries. The passenger of the Ford truck was treated and released at the scene.
Davis, the driver of the Ford truck, was transported to an area hospital for treatment. He was determined to be intoxicated and was subsequently charged for his role in the fatal crash.
