On May 12, 2025, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle potentially linked to a copper theft at a business in the 2000 block of Spring Stuebner Road in Spring, TX. Upon arrival, deputies observed a box truck departing the area, traveling southbound on the North Freeway (Interstate 45).

Constable Deputies initiated a traffic stop on the box truck in the 19000 block of the North Freeway. As the vehicle stopped, the white male driver exited and fled on foot into a wooded area along the freeway feeder road.

A perimeter was quickly established, and Constable K9 “R.E Moore” and drone units were deployed to locate the fleeing suspect. The drone operator identified a heat source deep within the wooded area, guiding the K9 Deputy and his partner to the suspect’s location.

The suspect, identified as Christopher Charles Fry, refused to comply with verbal commands, resulting in a K9 apprehension. Fry sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment before being medically cleared.

Constable Mark Herman stated, “Christopher Fry was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Evading on Foot, and Felony Theft. His total bond was set at $40,100.00 out of the 228th District Court and County Court 4.”
