Homicide Investigation at 9501 FM 969 in Austin

On Monday, September 11, 2023, at approximately 9:32 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a call from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) regarding a body found with gunshot wounds at John Trevino Jr., Metro Park, located at 9501 FM 969. TCSO received a call at 7:18 p.m., reporting a deceased white male at the park. The location of where the body was found was determined to be in APD’s jurisdiction.

Investigators believe the victim was shot and killed by a suspect who fled the area. Detectives are still looking for the shooter.
